How we build it
A retaining wall fails for one of two reasons: no drainage behind it, or no base under it. We build a compacted footing below frost depth, backfill with clean crushed stone, and run drainage so water leaves the wall instead of pushing on it.
Above that, the face is what you actually see — fieldstone fitted by hand, granite block set to a string line, or segmental units stepped back for batter. Steps get the same treatment: bluestone treads and granite risers, set level and pinned so they do not rock.
How it goes
Phone or video to start. Tell us the zip code, what you're picturing, and roughly when you want it done.
We come out, measure, and bring back a detailed proposal — materials named, scope written, one number.
Once the proposal is right, we sign, pull the permits, and schedule. You know who is coming and when.
